Memorable Moments

Nursery - Ducklings - Forest School

Here are some photos from our Forest School session this week. We had the most amazing time playing and exploring the environment. We collected sticks, balanced on logs and climbed some trees! We were super brave and were so proud of ourselves - it was a very special day.

Nursery - Ducklings - Lunar New Year

We had a wonderful time learning about Lunar New Year! We made Chinese fans, did some dragon dancing and made some beautiful lanterns too. We also had a special Chinese banquet - it was so exciting and very delicious. We had to cook the noodles in a saucepan and then Miss Heyes challenged us to have a go at using chopsticks!

We had a wonderful time making some wibbly wobbly jelly! We talked about the different steps which we needed to follow and all enjoyed joining in with them. It was a super opportunity to practise our scissor skills whilst cutting up the jelly cubes and we loved watching the jelly turn from a solid to a liquid. The next day, we ate our jelly for morning snack - it was delicious!

What a wonderful couple of weeks we have had back at Nursery! We are all so happy to be back together and we feel so lucky to be welcoming lots of new friends into our Class Family. We have spent our first moments together settling in, making friends and exploring our environment. Here are some photos of what we have been getting up to...

Nursery - Ducklings - Rainy day fun

We had a very wet afternoon jumping in puddles and enjoying the rain. It was so much fun!

Nursery - Ducklings - Diwali

Today we took part in a whole-school art project to celebrate the Hindu festival of Diwali. We went into the hall and created some beautiful Rangoli patterns using a variety of media. We listened to traditional Indian music and loved looking at all of the artwork created by the other children too. It was lots of fun!

Nursery - Ducklings - Toffee apples

This week, we have been learning all about Bonfire Night. To celebrate, we enjoyed making our own toffee apples. We each put a stick in an apple, melted some chocolate and carefully dipped the apples in. Next, we added some colourful sprinkles. Miss Heyes suggested that we leave them to set and then we could take them home but of course, this was a very silly idea… we just couldn’t resist ourselves!

Nursery - Ducklings - Bonfire night biscuits!

As part of our Bonfire Night celebrations, we decorated some biscuits with icing and sprinkles to make them look like fireworks. We listened beautifully and all waited so patiently for our turns. We were superstars!

Nursery - Ducklings - Pumpkin Soup!

Today we made some pumpkin soup! We enjoyed following all of the different steps - cutting up the pumpkin, adding some stock and blending it all together. We also added some pepper and gave it a really good mix before tasting it. Unfortunately, nobody liked the taste of the soup, however we had the BEST time making it.
