Welcome to Ducklings Nursery at Woodthorpe School. We take children from the age of 3 and accept both 15 and 30 hour funding and provide wraparound care with a Breakfast and After School Club for our Nursery Children. Parents are also able to pay for additional sessions that are not funded at a rate of £4.20 an hour. You can also use the Government tax free scheme to pay for your sessions.
To see if your child is entitled to 30 hours funded childcare for September 2023 or to renew an existing 30 hour code, please visit www.childcarechoices.gov.uk and apply before 31st August 2023 (the Government recommends applying as soon as possible).
Our new Nursery building has state of the art facilities. For further information about our activities and curriculum please click on our Nursery brochure below. We have regular school tours if you would like to visit us. These are listed on this web site.
To apply for a new Nursery place, please use this google form link to request sessions.
We also require the Pupil Registration Form to be completed. This is available below, or as a paper copy from the school office. The forms can be returned to the school office. Alternatively you can email us on: ducklings@woodthorpe.southbank.academy

Year 2 had a wonderful day last week at Ripon Museum. We started our day, in the Victorian school room and showed great determination during our handwriting lesson. #WPSYY2 #WPSYHistory #Woodthorpecharacter
To finish off our science topic ‘seasonal changes’, Year 1 proudly presented their own weather forecast! We used our prior knowledge of measuring the temperature and stating the different types of weather. ☀️ 💨 🌧️ #WPSYY1 #WPSYScience #Woodthorpecharacter
Would we have liked to go to school in the past? #WPSYY2 enjoyed finding out about Victorian classrooms; chanting times tables, practising our reading and writing on slate instead of paper. We were very respectful to the school mistress! #WPSYHistory #woodthorpecharacter
